The Senior Health Insurance Program (SHIP), which is a freestatewide health insurance counseling service for Medicare beneficiaries and their caregivers. Your current Illinois driver's license or ID card (DL/ID) will be accepted at airports, military bases and secure federal facilities until Oct. 1, 2021. We are providing you with the choice either to obtain a REAL ID card or to keep a standard card. Take time to know your options. All Driver Services facilities are issuing REAL IDs, with the exception of mobile units and express facilities (Diversey, Lockport, Orland Park, Rockford Auburn St., Roscoe, Washington and Wheaton).

Since July 1, 2015 Illinois U.S. military veterans are able to get an updated driver’s license/ID card with the “VETERAN” under the signature on the front of the card.

Union Veterans Council will hold government officials, candidates and elected officials accountable to the needs of military veterans and their families. The UVC will make our positions on veterans' issues known to candidates for public office and support the appointment of labor-friendly veterans to government agencies at all levels. The UVC will also encourage union veterans to take leadership roles in other veterans' organizations and will strive to form coalitions and alliances with other veteran groups
