John Michael Fitzgerald, a third-generation electrician, led Chicago's 17,000-member International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 134 for 11 years. He passed away on October 13, 2007 at 57 years old. It is fitting that we name this property after him to celebrate what he accomplished for working men and women and his dedication to seniors. We hope that he would be proud to know that we acknowledge his service with this union built property that will serve over 60 low income seniors. Over 150 new union constructions jobs will be created to build this memorial to "Fitz" over the next 18 months.
